Hand Peeling of House Logs

Peeling house logsClean peeling logsAfter the logs have been selected for a customer project, they are then placed on peel racks and hand-peeled to the preferred peel of the customer's choice.

Clean peel: All bark and inner bark is completely peeled down to bare wood. This type of peel offers a very bright, light appearance.

Light Skip peel: All bark and most of inner bark is peeled, leaving a small amount of cambium (inner bark) for color. This makes the home look very rustic and beautiful.

Clean Peel versus Skip Peeled Logs

Heavy skip peel: All outer bark is peeled off leaving as much inner bark (cambium) as possible. This type of peel gives the log a lot of character.

Whichever type of peel you choose, you will love the warmth of a real log home! With all the different types of decor available today, the choices in different types of peel allow you more flexibility when decorating. Create the perfect mood!
