Re-Set of Logs

The re-set of the logs is very important. If not done properly it can cause a great deal of problems. Unless you are very familiar with this process, we recommend that you at least have a Rustics log technician to assist your crew in the log re-set. We can also send a crew to re-set all house logs on your prepaid foundation and sub-floor. Please note that the foundation and subfloor must be present before the delivery and reset of the logs.

You will need to furnish a crane from your area to set all logs. Sorry, farm tractors, skid loaders, old drag liners, or self loaders will not be appropriate. The size of the crane depends on the site location. Usually a small single axle hydraulic truck crane will do the job.

After all logs have been re-set, your log technician will go over how to finish your home as well as discuss this with your local contractor. Please note that Rustics can do most of the carpentry phase work for you. This is your choice. We take great pride in our log work, and we do not want to see you build with regrets. If you do the work yourself, and you are in doubt about how to do it, stop and call us, we can usually talk you through it.
